News Corp Sued to Collect Indecency Fines

In an unusual move, the U.S. Justice Department is suing Fox Broadcasting and Sinclair to collect $56,000 in fines for the 2003 broadcast of a "raunchy" reality show. Fox's appeal was "returned without consideration," because its claim was 14 pages over the limit. Fox dubs the decision "offensive."

Rwanda: Students Ask Questions About Aids

Answers, Solutions and Knowledge - ASK - on HIV/Aids. That is what 18 students acquired during a one-month training. They recently received their certificates. The training was organized by the international student's platform Aiesec in partnership with World Vision. It culminated in the Come and ASK (Answers, Solutions and Knowledge on HIV/Aids) day, during which the 18 students, most of whom hail from the School of Finance and Banking, received their certificate.

At Balasore Railway Station when this seven-coach train parked, this group of about five met some rural folks and got them talk on HIV/AIDS. All that the visitors knew was Red Ribbon Express (RRE) was an exhibition on the wheels about HIV/AIDS. Not many knew details about the dreaded disease.

Twenty-one killed by HIV/AIDS in Badung district, Bali

As many as 21 people in Bali`s Badung district died of HIV/AIDS in 2008, a local HIV/AIDS eradication activist said here on Friday. Speaking at the closing of a "peer educators" training course for villagers concerned about the deadly disease, Adi Rukmini of Badung District`s AIDS Eradication Commission (KPA) said the district now had 373 HIV/AIDS sufferers who were living in almost all of the region`s sub districts.

Red Stripe cancels concert sponsorships in Jamaica, cites violent lyrics

The company has withdrawn thousands of dollars (euros) in sponsorship from the popular "Reggae Sumfest" and "Sting" reggae show. Musicians are glorifying violence in what has become a worrisome trend, the company said in a statement Friday.

Nielsen to Buy TV, Web Audience Research Firm

Nielsen plans to acquire IAG Research, a New York-based television and Internet audience research firm, for $225 million to strengthen its media business. Nielsen, a provider of market research and media services, expects to complete the acquisition in the second quarter.
